When Washington Hospital embarked on its new 200,000-square-foot, $68 million expansion in the fall of 2007, the growth plan wasn’t just for more physical space; it also looked to increase efficiency which will result in better care.   The new areas are scheduled to open any day now; the public will be invited to tour the facility during open houses the first week in March.

This project was started nearly 3 years ago to meet the demands for a changing population; to accommodate a growing elderly population as well as the younger families that are relocating to Washington County.

Some of the updates include:

Ø        Larger rooms

Ø        Each room contains diagnostic equipment mounted on moveable booms

Ø        Glass-walled entries to the rooms

Ø        State-of-the-art equipment in the critical care area, operating rooms and ER

Ø        Four additional operating rooms

Ø        Digital X-ray units that will instantly transfer images to radiology department for real-time reading.

Ø        New surgical floor

Ø        Additional parking garage

The improvements are not only essential to the hospital but will be a boom to our local amenities.  The Jim Dolanch Team is comprised of full-time agents who have lived in the area for many years; we know the neighborhoods, the schools and have the experience to help your family locate your next Pittsburgh area home.

Until next time,

Jim
