There are two schools of thoughts concerning listing your home for sale during the holiday season -

(1) it’s inconvenient to keep your house “show ready” during this busy season; there are less showings; the weather can make it more messy and further contribute to less showings.

(2) buyers that are out looking at this time of year are generally more serious and needing to buy now – no one is a casual looker during the holidays; many sellers take their homes off the market so there is less supply, less choices for buyers; your home is decked out for the holidays and shows well!
