Have you seen those commercials on TV showing the family sitting on the fence looking at something wondering when they can have one and why they have to wait?   It is a cute play on the many buyers in our market that are sitting on the fence and wondering when the right time will be for them to buy a home!  

Well, the time has arrived!  

The stimulus package that was signed into law last week offers 8,000 reasons for first time buyers to get off the fence and become home owners!   The bill provides an $8,000 tax credit that is available to first-time home buyers – or to anyone who has not owned a home in the last 3 years – when you purchase your principal residence between January 1, 2009 and December 1, 2009.  This $8,000 credit does not require re-payment – it will be claimed on a tax return to reduce the new homeowner’s income tax liability.
